When exiting Carmageddon normally through the game menu, once closed, a black square gets stuck on the upper left corner of the screen and cannot be interacted with, nor closed. As the square obscures any other window, the only way to use windows normally again is to restart the computer.

I also use cncddraw with lots of other games, it only happens with C1. And it doesn't happen when force closing Carmageddon by Alt-F4.

As you can see, the square obscures everything, but the mouse.

Tested with the latest release and default ini settings, and the result is the same.

Radeon RX550
Windows 10

Just tested it with the meldpack from toshiba but I can't reproduce it.

Does this also happen with release 6.8 and 6.7? What about OpenGL and GDI renderers?

Solved! Used Process Explorer over the box, turns out using any ddraw wrapper (cncddraw, ddrawcompat, etc) with C1, and only C1, makes Google Drive spawn an empty UI box over the screen when you exit the game, even when Google Drive is running only in the background.

After I got that it was Google Drive, I just clicked on GD's icon in the taskbar's notification area and the box went away.

Pretty silly considering it has been years I had this going on, hehe. Thank you for your time, you can close this now.
