See attached profiles.

Expected behavior
Snapshot generator should retain the slicing rules value from the base profile.

Version used:

FHIR Version: R4, R5
Version: 5.8.1

MyCoverage.StructureDefinition.json
MyDerivedCoverage.StructureDefinition.json

Could not reproduce. Problem must be in Forge.
