Demo Install Outside AWS? #418
Comments
I'd be interested in this too. Has anyone used Herd with Hadoop as storage? |
I am rolling a set of docker files, as well as a set of vagrant files for this. |
Can I help in any way? |
Sorry, dropped the ball on this, but am updating the Dockerfile, prep script to the latest version, and a Vagrantfile for a build environment for convenience. |
I re-tested and submitted a pull request. |

I am looking to install and research the features of Herd. Specifically the data catalog features. It looks as though it is highly coupled to AWS.
I found docker images from someone that has a herd db and herd web at https://hub.docker.com/u/ceylon. Those are from 3 years ago.
Is it possible to install locally for testing? Or is it required to go through AWS for the time being? Would it be futile to try and get it running locally? Even if using localstack to mimic some AWS services https://github.com/localstack/localstack?
Thanks,
Cam
