Susanna has asked us to consider adding 'tags' for repositories to distinguish those that contain data from those that contain code, literature, etc.

The questions are:

  1. Should this go into an ontology, or form a new drop-down list field that only appears for databases when the user says their database is a repository?
  2. If this goes into the domain ontology, should it be 'software' or 'software repository'?

Let's discuss this at the next ontology call.

We have agreed that this is a useful distinction, and some curation work has gone into this behind the scenes. However, we are deliberately waiting on this as we think about the questions our users want to ask as we develop the next stage of searching / user interactions. We will come back to this after that specification has been more fully developed.
