As many of you know, next year Founders & Coders is setting up its second code school in Nazareth, Israel. We are now in the final stages of preparation, with FAC1 Nazareth applications opening on November 1. This is an exciting time for Founders & Coders; we have an opportunity to test and refine our model and the ability to have a real impact on the people of Nazareth, which is the heart of the Arab community in Israel.
Our aim is to run FAC1 Nazareth as a full-fledged, peer-led course, with a 16-week foundation and 10 weeks of project work. Since we will be starting from zero, we will need mentors from FAC London to come and help guide the course.
On January 9, I (Eoin) will open the campus in Nazareth with four FAC9 students, including the two students from Israel who came to London for FAC9. The four FAC9 students will complete their course in Nazareth while we get ready to start the full course on February 20.
We invite you all to come and be a part of this exciting new step for Founders & Coders. Our classroom will be inside the famous Khan el Basha building in the heart of the old city, across from the Basilica of the Annunciation. We are in the process of negotiating free accommodation for mentors, and Arabic lessons will be available.
If you can commit to two weeks or more, we will do our best to subsidise your travel expenses. If you are interested, add you name below.
