The ruler seems not to function in PDFs open with Edge, (extension installed through google chrome store). For example, trying to activate the extension on this hosted specification sheet just takes me to a grey screen. This issue appears specific to web-hosted PDFs. Attempting to activate the extension on locally hosted PDFs conjures no response, also not ideal. http://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Robotics/S05NF%20STD.pdf (i do not endorse, represent, or have any association with the linked product)
I would appreciate normal function on PDFs, wherever they are hosted!
I could screenshot and upload sections of PDFs I wish to measure, or I could hold a ruler or calipers up to the screen---I do this frequently with calipers, actually. I can also take screenshots in greenshot and compare the pixel counts across screenshotted areas.
But it would be nice to use this app.
My primary use for this extension is when reviewing datasheets online and attempting to gauge relative distances.
Thank you for creating this extension and making it available.
