Project Cleanup

  • We have 7 branches not merged in and 5 of them old, dormant with no pull requests.
    • If they are obsolete, delete them (their respective authors).
    • If they are not obsolete, finish them and create pull requests.
    • Either way, resolve the original JIRA issues.
  • We still have a lot of open Issues in the EUDAT JIRA. Can we really move to the Github tracker?
    • I find using the CSC JIRA horrible:
    • At the same time Github tracker has problems too. It is very primitive:
      • No priorities. We could use tags, but they can not be used to sort for instance.
      • No attachments. Other than gif, jpg, or png, you can't include any file. A logfile? No way.
      • No componets. Not sure we need them, but it might be useful: GUI, OAI-PMH, Invenio, OAI-PMH?
      • Everybody is by default subscribed to notifications on every Issue. A lot of garbage for each of us. I can't assign specific team members as "watchers" of an Issue.
      • Only nicknames, no mapping to real names. (Maybe just my problem, though.)
    • I find Bitbucket to be the best of both worlds, but I am reluctant to move everything there.
    • Any votes?
