Renders completely useless on latest FF Dev Edition update

Describe the bug
STG simply stopped working on latest Firefox Dev Edition update [136.0b3 (aarch64)]:

• context menu items are not appearing when right-clicking on tabs
• re-ordering tab groups in the STG dropdown breaks the app
• when the browser is in focus (switching between other macOS apps) a notification pings every single time

Desktop (please complete the following information):

• OS and version: macOS Sequoia 15.3 (24D60)
• Firefox version: 136.0b3 (aarch64)
• Simple Tab Groups version: 5.2

At least parts of your issues are already covered in #1242

Quite likely the fix from PR #1250 will either fix those issues or at least make it operational again.

do we know if the maintainer is going to merge it any time soon? Although for me the extension is... usable on latest dev edition, it's highly annoying (the error notifications pop up when I switch groups, where I can kill ff, relaunch it, and continue using it at least in that group)

Firefox not allowing you to downgrade without a new profile doesn't help.

Unfortunately, I haven't seen any activity recently from the repo owner or any maintainer that could merge pull requests etc.

So I'm also worried about that. One of the biggest problems about this is, that addons for the majority of users are only available when they're properly signed through an approval process on the AMO. Only the owner can hand in a new version of the addon for approval, signing and publishing...

Unsigned addons can not "easily" be used productively like that. I might end up writing a little guide for people who are interested in the original issue... But first I have to test stuff on my end myself.

I'd suggest keeping any further discussions in #1242 which is referenced by #1250 unless there's actually any unique symptoms to this issue that are not solved by #1250 .

In the meantime I've posted a guide in #1242 to get the fix from #1250 up and running - as mentioned above already.

If you still experience crashes or major issues even with the patch applied, that would be very useful information. Basically spamming "me too" on an issue that has been identified as a potential duplicate is not very productive.

I'm on the beta channel, which means I have reached 136 but cannot install unsigned addons. Any chance you might get the quick fix signed, or do you think that would take longer than just waiting for the update to get approved?

But since I can't @ you there without your participation, I guess we're stuck here...

I have no experience with signing unlisted addons so far. I do know that the approval process for those is meant to be easier - even automatic in some cases, from what I've read...

If you have the option to leave your browser open and just suspend your PC for a couple of days, the option using a temporarily installed addon for "Debugging" might be fitting for you. See my "guide" in the comment.

Aside from that Beta is basically the only thing that isn't covered at this moment, so I'd rather not invest another 2+ hours to fiddle with the rest of the metadata in order to not get into any trouble when trying to get an unlisted version signed. See my explanation in the "Further Notes" section on the guide for more details.

Version 5.3 is now available on AMO, so people should receive the update automatically. Can you guys please double check and @mitchuman can you close the ticket, if things work fine with v5.3? You can check your addon version on about:addons and also force a check for updates, if necessary.
