Looking at the run of river generation from RoR facilities on Vancouver Island (VI), generation profile peaks from November to Februaury. However, there should be another peak in the May and June months. This needs to be investigated in more depth later. Some possible issues are:

  • The 2021 inflow data is an anomaly of a period with low flows during the spring-freshet (May + June).
  • Something is inherently wrong either with the cutouts or linkage of basins for VI.

To close this issue reasoning should be provided as to why this issue occurs. Below is an image of actual RoR production from the 2013 IRP. Furthermore, a correction to the method would be accepted if it visually can reproduce the same shape for VI as seen in figure 1 below.
