Sometimes teams put up a PR to remove a deprecated product or a chain that they no longer support.
If the tvl data is incorrect, we try to fix it, otherwise reject these PRs because:
contracts are (usually) immutable, so even if the team stops supporting it, most cases, someone needs to host the front-end. Example: Serum was abandoned after FTX blew up, but still has a lot of tvl, and we still track it.
If we delist a project, or remove a chain from the project, tvl history of that project and overall chain/global tvl history is incorrect now. For example, anchor and terra classic chain itself is mostly dead, but we still maintain the listings.
We still maintain deprecated versions of projects because users are interested in project tvl history, want to compare adoption of different versions. Example, we still maintain Uniswap v1, aave v1 & compound v1.
