This is a collection of utility functions I have written throughout my career as a graduate student doing bioinformatics research. At lot of them have to do with making it easier to do certain basic programming tasks, such as reading and writing data files, printing plots to files, and such, as well as certain kinds of data transformations that are common in my work. Hopefully you will find something useful here as well.
To install this package, first install the
BiocManager package, then use
BiocManager::install("DarwinAwardWinner/rctutils").
Since this package provides lots of unrelated utilities, it is
structured to have a relatively minimal set of hard dependencies, with
most packages being only suggested. If you try to use a function that
requires the installation of an optional package, it will tell you. If
you want to install all the suggested packages ahead of time to avoid
such errors, use BiocManager::install("DarwinAwardWinner/rctutils", dependencies = TRUE).
