Showcase Your DPG at the Information Integrity Hackathon

Code for Africa is organizing "Tooling Together", a virtual global event co-hosted with the Accelerator, focused on advancing research tools to address some of today’s most pressing challenges in the information environment on January 24th, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM WAT.

Information environment is the vast space where we create, share, and consume information—encompassing everything from social media posts and news articles to videos and online discussions. This environment profoundly influences how we perceive and understand the world. Addressing its challenges, such as misinformation and harmful content, is crucial because they impact critical areas like health, climate, politics, and beyond. Through thought-provoking presentations and engaging discussions, "Tooling Together" will foster collaboration and innovation in creating tools that:

• Analyse the spread of harmful content across online platforms.
• Enable advanced data collection and analytics to better understand trends in how information flows.
• Uphold ethical standards in designing and using research tools.

This event is open to researchers, technologists, institutions, activists, and anyone curious about improving the way we manage and understand information in the digital age. Those selected to present their work will receive a certificate from Princeton University, along with the opportunity for the Accelerator to help scale their tools, join the consortium, and gain access to additional resources.
