Add Venom to Cardinal?

I am the developer of the Venom plugin for VCV, and I would be very happy if Venom were included in Cardinal.

Venom has already been added to the list of possible plugin additions at https://github.com/DISTRHO/Cardinal/wiki/Possible-modules-to-include

User @rl2939 has started a PR to add Venom that I can inherit. Don Cross (@cosinekitty ), creator of Sapphire has offered to get me up to speed so I can maintain the code for Venom in Cardinal.

But we don't want to invest any more time in creating a PR if the Cardinal team does not have any interest.

If there are too many modules to fit within Cardinal, then the list could be curated, though that might be difficult. I try hard to only release Venom modules that bring something unique to VCV.

So what say you - Is there interest in adding Venom to Cardinal?

sure why not.

things have been slow lately as I have been busy with life and extra work, but I can spend a bit of time if there is something that is blocked by me.

I don't see that PR to add Venom that you mentioned.

In the past I had looked at adding them myself, especially when you added the dark panels :)
However it being a very large collection, that I wasn't familiar with, made me hesitant.

If you take this on yourself it's certainly much more appreciated and we then wouldn't be adding such a large collection for no reason. Imo Cardinal works best if it's a collaboration and we don't just stuff it with anything that we find ;)

I don't think any PR has been submitted. I was referring to all the necessary coding that is needed - that was started by 3rd parties. Don (Sapphire creator) has taken over the initial coding effort, but naturally didn't want to invest the time until we got Cardinal approval. He is now actively working on it. We will submit the PR when ready.

I will maintain the Venom Cardinal adaptation as part of normal Venom development.
