Updates & state of OCPS

Hi there!

Over the last month, we had the opportunity to speak about OCPS with a couple of different parties in the podcasting ecosystem and received a lot of interest in the standard. We want to use this thread to keep you updated about relevant updates & progress regarding the standard.

In this first post, we’ll give you an overview of the parties that have shown interest in the standard, their feedback and what they are working on if they started development already:

• Breez is already working on implementing OCPS on the client-side
• Conshax (we) are working on a service that will allow podcasters to use the OCPS whether their hoster supports it or not
• Alby is working on an example client for showcasing & easier implementation
• Podverse has shown interest but would like to see an extension of the Podcasting 2.0 namespace first for better usability
• Fountain has shown strong interest and suggested to make use of the “Alternate Enclosure” Tag of the Podcasting 2.0 namespace
• Pocket Casts has shown strong interest
• Bluberry has shown strong interest & would like to follow up with some implementation details on the hosting side
