Taxon.tsv in the 2024-12-19 release in CLB has a very large number of duplicate names, i.e. records which differ only in taxonID. These are listed in the attached strict-duplicates.txt.
Most of these arise in the source, for example the pair
ambiguous synonym is exactly for those cases when the same name is a synonym for different accepted names, i.e. a pro parte synonym. So these are very much expected to be "duplicates".
