In my case, it took ~1 hour. What I did was a basic KDE Plasma installation with zsh and fish config. The mirrors that I got by default gave me a pretty decent speed ~2.5 MiB/s. To put in perspective, archinstall takes ~15 minutes to install KDE Plasma and the system itself, but their repositories are not stable for me sometimes it spikes to 10 MiB/s or more and sometimes 70 KiB/s. |

I choose KDE Plasma. That means, just to download the necessary files it will take around 35 minutes with 2.5 MiB/s stable internet connection. And rest are just installation and setup time? I'm assuming, in the installation process the download speed is 2 MiB/s or less, which makes the most sense to me. But again, the logs were saying installing ... I don't remember what the exact logs are but next time I will try to note them down. |
