ignoring whitespaces will make the diffs more readable and compact.

Yes please. Especially in cases like: https://metacpan.org/diff/release/DAGOLDEN/CPAN-Meta-YAML-0.008/DAGOLDEN/CPAN-Meta-YAML-0.009#lib/CPAN/Meta/YAML.pm
