Controlling Cineform bitrate

Hi,

The answer is probably No, but is the only way to control Cineform bitrate via the quality= parameter? Even the lowest, 1, is still resulting in a large data stream, with more than adequate quality. Would really like to be able to get the data rate lower. At 4K resolution, even a quality=1 results in over 800 mb/s, which just isn't workable.

Hi,
Unfortunately the codec does not provide any additional settings affecting the quality. If you're encoding RGB you can get some bitrate reduction by switching to YUV 4:2:2 though.

Yeah, we are doing 12bit RGB 444, and that is the requirement. Thanks though.
