It sounds like with BOP, sometimes the biomes and IDs match up correctly, but also sometimes they don't.

It sounds like at least the desert and nether can sometimes override the correct biome. Might be more -- it sounds like, basically, the special hard coded biosphere biomes are overriding the biome, without changing the ID.

This issue probably exists independent of BOP.

(User repro's this issue with MC 1.7.10.)

This can be repro'd using the F3 debug console, and can be seen using the Journeymap mod as well.

IIUC, this may also occur without BOP -- that the hard coded biomes (like Desert, etc.) are just plain wrong sometimes -- Possibly overlapping with Issue 13.

That would definitely explain #13 - although unless it's intermittent it wouldn't explain why #13 only occurs in some locations within a world.

I think the special biomes (desert and nether, etc.) are tied to some random key instead of the actual biome ID -- I'll have to double check, but that's my recollection of how it worked.

Note: Marking this as "Priority: Low" and "Duplicate"; Issue #13 seems like it's probably the better one to track the overall issue, and I'll leave this one around to track if there is anything specific to BOP going on that's not covered by Issue #13.
