When you want to find a species from an observation the popular taxonomy should be used by default, not the scientific taxonomy.

This also applies when you edit an observation

Will consider that. But if a species is not included in the popular taxonomy, then we need to fall back to the scientific one, and this might confuse users. I will see how this can be handled best.
