In the popular taxonomy there are no species in the category "sopp".

On db.biocaching.com you will see that there are almost 2000 sopp...

Sorry, I now see that it just takes time to show them because you show all 2000.
You should show (and retrieve from the back end) them in batches, perhaps 20 by 20. The API has parameters for that. See how its done on db.biocaching.com
