The default in the wizard is of 2048bit, and this is not even changeable. Yes, it is possible to create one with the "advanced" method, but it's not going to be user-friendly.

The git repository of enigmail already contains the patch (which is trivial) to switch to 4096.

It seems that current Debian sid's enigmail (2:1.8.2-2) defaults to RSA-4096. It's already in Debian testing, so it could go to jessie-backports and then to wheezy-backports-sloppy... if the package from testing/sid can't be installed as-is on Wheezy.
