FSE themes not displaying Search results by default (Inherit query from template not working) #61676
Comments
This is a confusing one, but I think this ticket has the same issue 4832634-zd-woothemes |
@1dr0 Thank you for reporting this! I tried to replicate it, but I had no luck yet. As we discussed here it appears to be a plugin conflict with the Relevanssi plugin for @renata-franco 's case above. @1dr0 can you check if that's similar to your case, please? If not, could you share the website with us? |
The site is https://boozemusings.com/ and they do not have Relevanssi plugin. EDIT: they have it but deactivated. |
For reference, the Relevanssi-related issue @Robertght mentioned is this one. Could you please confirm if the site where you noticed this was using any search plugins? Thank you! |
Updating this thread: Good catch @Robertght! I have Relevanassi active on my site during the test. Deactivated it and I was able to display the search results. |
Thank you for confirming @1dr0 ! I'm going to go ahead and close this but please feel free to open it if you need to add anything @Robertght . |
I'm not sure if this is the same issue or a new issue, but reopening this because I have a similar issue with search on a simple FSE site. 34743444-hc / 4872709-zen Simple site. User has a Search Block on the home page and the Kerr theme active. There are posts titled "Teaching with Monopoly" and "Teaching with Monopoly 2.0" which are not returned within the first 40 results by searching "Monopoly" or even by searching the exact title of the post. However, if I switch the site to Twenty Twenty One, the relevant post is the top result. Not sure if it's relevant, but the site was previously Atomic and was reverted. Please let me know if a separate issue should be opened. |
Thank you @masperber ! I'm going to close this in favor of this one: #62137 It appears to be a core issue: WordPress/gutenberg#39285 |
