Warning when duplicating Pay with PayPal block. #25009
Comments
28628202-hc Another day, another of the same issue! Duplicating the PayPal block is causing issues to the user. |
Nice suggestion! A warning would have helped in this user's case as well: 35950266-hc Also, this may get addressed instead by a fix on this bug, so mentioning it here: Automattic/wp-calypso#58446 |

New report of this. The user is struggling with this issue without realizing the cause. |
Requested in 39100720-hc as well |
What
Add a warning message or label when we notice that the user initiates to duplicate a Pay with PayPal block. Most users, when creating multiple PWPP blocks on their pages/posts, will create one from scratch. After that, they will duplicate the existing one and do slight changes to the block. This will cause multiple PWPP blocks with the same product ID, but they are meant to sell different products.
Example warning: Are you selling the same product? Duplicating existing Pay with PayPal blocks to sell new products can result in errors. Please use the add new Pay with PayPal block to add a new item.
Why
When duplicating the PWPP block, the duplicated block will have the same product ID as the previous one. This will cause errors when saving the page.
