decl->def = nullptr;
deletes the cached def for polymorphic functions, but this happens after any potential recursive calls are generated. These might not call the function with the same type parameters though:

fn foo[T] (_ : T) -> () {
    foo[i32](1);
}

fn bar() {
    foo[f32](2.4);
}
