Management of missing input data

I encountered some unit models where there was a check whether the input data was missing or not (in rSamara, they set NilValue = -999, -999 corresponding to a missing data). I don't know if there is any formalism so as how to manage missing data among the crop model community, but if not, it could be interesting to be able to take it into account in transpilations. Or just ask the platforms to check outside of the unit models...
