Welcome to the Donate to Charity project! This web app is designed to help users donate items such as toys, clothes, rugs, food, utilities, and home goods to foundations, NGOs, or local charities. It also allows users to schedule a courier for convenient pickup of donated items.
This project was developed as part of a Python and frontend course. The app offers a full CRUD (Create, Read, Update, Delete) functionality and was created using the Django framework, covering both backend and frontend development.

To get started with the project, follow these steps:

Clone the repository:
git clone https://github.com/your-username/donate-to-charity.git cd donate-to-charity

Create and activate a virtual environment:
python3 -m venv venv source venv/bin/activate

Install the required packages:
pip install -r requirements.txt

Configure environment files:
- Navigate to env directory and create a
.env
file based on the.env-default
filecp env/.env-default env/.env
- Edit the
env/.env
file to fit your environment (e.g., database settings, API keys, etc.).

Set up the database:
python manage.py migrate

Run the development server:
python manage.py runserver
To use the application, open your web browser and go to `http://127.0.0.1:8000\`. You can register as a new user, log in, and start donating items. The app allows you to manage your donations, view your donation history, and view your user settings.
