Some notes:

  • Multiple "security 800-53 control" blocks (related by technology, process, service, policy) --> "component"
  • Multiple "components" (indexed by technology, process, service, policy, author, clients) --> FCL
  • User selects source libraries (including FCL, optional local repositories) into lightweight GRC (compositing tool)
  • GRC enables selecting components by technology, etc. for review, composition with other components, and gap analysis
  • GRC enables template updates with organization parameter management
  • Output is OpenControl or OSCAL formatted controls for import by other tools
